As part of my Baja 1000 training I plan to race one Hare Scramble a month. This was my first Hare Scramble and only my second time being on a motocross track. This along with the jack rabbit start made it a bit intimidating for me at first. In RallyMoto races I'm used to getting times out either 30 seconds or a minute apart. Once I settled into a groove all fear went away and I had a blast. I came in 4th Place in the Unlimited 35+ Class and I'm looking forward to doing even better next time.

I live a stones throw from the Mexico border and our Desert is typically used as training grounds for people racing in Mexico. District 38 has a few teams going down there and they always do well - you may have heard of Craig Smith or maybe on a quad Wayne Matlock? I really wish you all the best and be very careful down there!! We were at a Corr Race at Laguna Salada and there was a shoot out right next to us and then of course there was the motorcycle guy who got shot by a random rancher. We know the culture, language and our way around and will not even go down there anymore. It really is not worth what CAN and does happen - remember what happened to the Mc Millin family not too long ago.
